FASHION STEW - TOSSED FASHION

Stew and salad - you look in the fridge see what you've got;
throw it all together and it ends up incredibly delicious... And that
is what happens with fashion when you just walk in your closet and
look at what you have, grab this and that; add accessories to taste
and mix it up and wa-la ... you come up with incredibly delicious style.

Mmmm mmmm good.

Saucy!

Scrumptious!

Spicy hot!!

The Garden of Fashion

Florals and bright colors are in bloom.

In these photographs the colorful dresses are trying to take center stage,
however the garden blossoms seem a bountiful competition.

This wonderful frock resembles billowing folds of sunshine.

The jewelry - a corsage bracelet of metal and the lace bodice of her dress, so
reminiscent of tatting that my grandmother used to do.
*tatting is a kind of knotted lace made by hand with a small shuttle - a lost art.

I am intrigued by the asymmetrical sleeves on this very 1940's inspired dress.

Draped and ruffled fabric makes for a very feminine and flirty summer dress.

Orange is a big in collections for the summer but it is a color that never seems to translate into real trends on the street. Maybe that is enough reason for me to be drawn to it.

SWIMSUITS, TURBANS AND WRAPS

Hello summer...
The sun is out and the temperature is rising, which must mean
it's time to frolic on the beach or sip pretty drinks poolside.

One piece bathing suits are chic and so incredibly flattering.

I am not a sun worshiper. No tan for me. I slather myself with sunscreen and go in search of shade, a big hat and an umbrella. I do love colorful coverups. This design is particularly brilliant as the sleeve can be worn long and full or scrunched for a sleeveless look
... so beautiful, especially in a playful summer breeze.

I especially adore these turbans because they are like fabric bouffants.
I am determined to learn how to
fold and tie these fabulous head wraps.

The jewelry is magnificent! Pile it on - the more the better.
Baubles of so many shapes and sizes.
They would make great suntan tattoos, don't you think?

This swimsuit fabric is my favored print. Paisley is a pattern of curved, feather-shaped
figures based on a pine-cone design from India. It is so fanciful and exotic.
I don't understand why there is not more of this print in fashion today.
Uh-hmmmmm ...excuse me, might I make a request, please!

Add a large flowing scarf round the waist, bangled sandles
and you could take this outfit away from the beach and out to lunch. Yummy!

Maillot (may-ou) is French for bathing suit. I just thought you should know.

Cutouts are all the rage — the look of summer 2011.

~ and the last is my favorite. A cream colored turban with just a moment of orange paired with a deep turquoise, off the shoulder, sheer coverup and heavy gold and orange accessories. It is the combination of ease and elegance that makes it work.
